Treatment Plan
**This timeline and treatment plan was created specifically for Musa using results from his skin and blood tests. Please don’t try to replicate this at home.**
I was so anxious to get off the waitlist and once we were I was anxious to get to FA1…and then I was anxious for FA2 to get our treatment plan. See a theme here? I wanted to know how long it would take us to get to #foodfreedom and what Musa’s allergies “really” were. Once I did find out, it was slightly overwhelming but I think it would have been that way no matter what. It’s all just so exciting, nerve wracking, stressful and absolutely unbelievable all at once!
Our plan consists of 20 visits so about 4 years. It feels like a long time to me but I would give all my time if it means food freedom for Musa. It’s also a lot to think about all at once with travel and daily dosing. So, to make things less stressful I think of each appointment separately. The goal is always to get to the next appointment which goes by surprisingly fast. I know that with time we will become pros at traveling and timing out our doses…and then poof! we will be free eating in no time!
Since we are traveling for treatment, Musa will be treating a few foods at a time. Below is a snapshot of what Musa will be dosing for each appointment. For instance, at visit one (FA2) we challenged soy, pine nut, macadamia nut and pumpkin seeds. These moved into maintenance right away after Musa passed. Then we introduced foods from visit 2- duck egg yolk, buckwheat and chestnut.
Appointment Updates
I will update this timeline as we complete each visit. (Click on each to read about the appointments.) The time between FA2 and FA3 was longer than expected due to COVID-19. We are hoping to be back on track now!
